is now expected to accommodate 16,000 students upon completion, instead of the initial projection of 12,000 students. It also a total development area of 305 acres.Education@Iskandar Sdn Bhd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Iskandar Investment Bhd and is incorporated as a special purpose vehicle to spearhead the development of a world class education hub within Iskandar Malaysia. EISB is responsible for implementing all education initiatives in and around EduCity@Iskandar, which will comprise of international universities, schools and colleges, recreational facilities and sports facilities.
EISB’s partnerships have brought reputable education institutions to Iskandar Malaysia, such as
1. Newcastle University Medicine Malaysia (NUMed Malaysia), which accepted its first intake of students in September 2009 and will open its EduCity@Iskandar campus in 2011.
2. In 2009, EISB also signed an agreement with Marlborough Overseas Ltd to establish Marlborough College Malaysia, scheduled for completion in 2012.
3. In 2010, EISB signed an agreement with Maritime Intelligence Sdn. Bhd., Maritiem Instituut De Ruyter and Maritiem Instituut Willem Barentsz to establish the Netherlands Maritime Institute of Technology (NMIT) in EduCity@Iskandar by 2012. While waiting for the campus in EduCity to be completed, NMIT will commence its operations temporarily in Kotaraya mid of this year.

EISB also announced collaborating with Raffles Education Corporation to conduct a feasibility study to establish a multi-institutional education campus in Iskandar Malaysia which will include the launch of Raffles University Iskandar as part of its first phase of development.
All NMIT programmes are approved by the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) Malaysia and each programmes comprises of 7 semesters over a 2.5-year period.
The programmes include a subsidised optional 2-week study tour in the Netherlands and a 4-month internship either locally or in Europe together with organised field trips to relevant maritime industry sectors in Malaysia and Singapore.
Our teaching faculty includes international guest lecturers and local lecturers who are respected maritime personnel with good credentials in the academic field as well as possessing relevant industry experience.With this, employment opportunities for our graduates is further strengthened in the maritime sector.
